Dumped because...Conceived?15 year old girl went missing in September last year. Police commissioner of Bangalore city was summoned to appear in the High Court. Case was registered by her parents saying that she is lost and not to be found.

Geeta (Name changed), was produced before the court and brought face-to-face with her grieving parents on Friday. Geeta thought she would return to the warmth of her loved ones. Her parents refused to accept her, because she was pregnant.
Geeta’s life collapsed inward, when she was taken away to a remand home after her parents abandoned her.

Love, with a young boy who used to commute passengers in his auto in Bangalore took Geeta with him 9 months back and this couple was picked by police near a place called Hoskote. But the real tragic struck Geeta, when her parents were untouched and unmoved by her plight.

“We have nothing to do with our daughter as she had besmirched our family” said her parents. The same parents of Geeta filed a case with Bangalore police on Sep 15, 2008, that their daughter is missing and her mother wept, pleaded with police to trace their daughter, who was in eighth grade at that time.

Following a year long relationship, Geeta eloped with the young auto driver after taking some gold and Rs 30,000. They got married after leaving the city and went to honeymoon to Mysore and Ooty.
Medical examination of the girl on Thursday confirmed that she was Pregnant. Police tried to convince Geeta’s Parents who are working in the same Pvt Company. Alas they did not agree.

Meanwhile the young boy has been arrested and Police sources said that since the girl is two years short for majority age, they suspect she might surface along with the person she eloped with when she attains 18.

The ideal solution would be to let the girl live with that boy..after all, they are in love with each other and also married.

From law point of view,if the case continues, the auto driver’s future is in dark.

She deserve it!

If a 14 yr old girl didn’t think of her parents while eloping with an auto driver...causing shame to her family and her future...

The court should let her decide what she want to do! Good that her parents refused to accept her...

So many boys do the same thing. Do you have same views on those boys? I don’t think.

Elias, don't even expect this from her. Maya belongs to the same primitive thinking people who have different set of rules for girls and boys.

The girl was immature and stupid to take a step of eloping at such a young age. Agreed! But everyone deserves a 2nd chance and this is a child, she should get a 2nd chance for sure.

Parents are to be equally blamed who could not take care of the child and give her the proper guidance at the tender age. Teenage is the most dangerous phase of any child's growth and parents have to be extra cautious that time.

This is what happen when you deny sex education to the child.

I agree, completely.

One one hand Indians don’t educate their children on sex related issues and then when their children get caught in such situation they take a back step in the name of family pride. Hypocrites!

Why do you bear a child when can’t take his/her responsibility.

And im sure, if the same thing would have been done by their son, they would have accepted him back.

Whatever it is, if the girl stays with the auto-driver, her future is in dark for sure. but if parents accept her back and educate her, she might make a good future for herself and the child as well.

Parents should take responsibility of the girl. After all they brought her to the world and missed to educate her on the pros and cons of sex and immature decisions.

I don't think we can expect anything from an auto driver. He'll ruin the lives of the girl and the child both.

I still wonder why this issue is categorised in terms of Girl/Boy who eloped, why can’t the parents think about thier kids feelings, thier emotions???

As Ms.Sanwali commented, its very true if this case was concentrated on a ”Boy’s” point of view, it would have never got published as News in any paper nor the boy would have got rejected from the family.
