I saw her hands trembling, her face turned red and her body started to get wet by her sweat. We started to feel the fear and my aunt was crying with confusion.
We couldn’t handle that situation physically or mentally when my aunty started to behave in that strange way. She was looking tensed and worried. My uncle said she used to get irritated for small reasons quite frequently from last few days. I saw her cuddling herself in a corner of her room, and not letting anybody near her.
We called a physician to attend this case and as soon as the doctor saw my aunt he asked us to call a consultant psychiatrist. We called him and it took about 2 hrs for him to come and attend my aunt, however during that 2hrs of gap we were expecting her to come back to her normal stage. It turned worst, she started to scatter things and speak to herself.
When doctor diagnosed and said it is a clear condition of “Anxiety Disorder” and advised us to take this condition seriously before we lose things.
My aunty started to get treatment from that doctor. He started the 1 stage of treatment with Counseling and Psychotherapy. I was curious to know why counseling is required to him and I went and asked the doctor.

Doctor said “Anxiety disorders are responsive to counselling and to a wide variety of psychotherapies. He said there are several cases of anxiety disorders like Generalized anxiety disorder, Obsessive-compulsive disorder, Panic disorder, Phobia, Post-traumatic stress disorder, Social anxiety disorder etc.
A variety of medications, including benzodiazepines and antidepressants, are used in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Doctor specifically mentioned that medication is most effective when combined with counseling. Certain types of anxiety disorders like phobias or social anxiety disorder, medication may only be needed from time to time, such as right before boarding an airplane.

It is not clear why more women than men suffer from anxiety disorders, although some theories have suggested the possible role of steroids. Research on women’s responses to stress suggests that women experience a wider range of life events that are stressful as compared to men.
Doctor mentioned some of the points my aunty or anyone who has anxiety disorder should practice doing regularly, such as she has to make sleep a priority for her and her family and Take seven to nine hours of time for uninterrupted sleep, Establish a regular bedtime of going to bed and getting up at the same time, she should not engage in stimulating activities right before going to sleep, her bedroom should be quiet, calm and dark. Go to bed when she is sleepy. Do not watch television or work on computer before going to bed. Use bedroom only for sleep and sex, after lying in bed she should not think about problems and worries. Do not think about what to do next day, If you do not get sleep within half an hour, get out of bed and something relaxing.
Drink warm milk two hours before sleep time. Do not exercise before going to bed. Exercise three to four hours before bedtime. Do not consume caffeine, alcohol, and chocolate in the evening and before going to bed. If you have any sleep problems, consult your doctor and discuss with him to control anxiety disorder.
